National Permit For Your Vehicle: Details to Check Status and Make Payments.

Permits for vehicles are issued in India on the basis of the types and utility of the vehicle. It enables the movement of vehicles from one place to another. These permits are provided to two types of vehicles, one carrying goods and the other carrying passengers. Vehicles need to apply for a State or a National permit. 

 

A National permit is an official document that allows goods carrying vehicles to move from their state to some other state.According to the laws, a national permit is issued for four states in addition to the state from where it was applied. 

National permit online application process :

For all transportation purposes, you need to apply for a Vahan National Permit to legally carry goods all over the country. 

 

Have all these documents ready before applying for a National Permit Vehicle registration certificate, fitness certificate, Insurance certificate, Proof of tax payment, 46 and 48 number form, fee for national permit, demand drafts, proof of green tax payment. 

 

With all these documents ready, visit your regional transport office. Once you submit all these documents along with an application, the data granting you the national permit will be updated on the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH)’s Parivahan Sewa Portal.  After the final payment, the zonal RTO will hand over the Parivahan National Permit to you. 

Steps to check National Permit for your Vehicle -

Step 1 : Log on to the Parivahan Sewa Portal.

Step 2 : Select the “National Permit” option under the ‘Online Service’ option.

Step 3 : A new window will appear and then you have to enter your vehicle registration number and the last 5 digits of your chassis number.
