How to pay Green Tax online
Green Tax on vehicles :
A tax is imposed on older vehicles that may be contributing to environmental pollution, it is known as environment, pollution, or green tax. This tax is imposed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on the commercial vehicles that have been used for more than 8 years and also on all the personal vehicles that have been used for more than 15 years.
How to pay green tax online?
The green tax has been levied by the government on older vehicles that have been running on the roads in the country. Now, the vehicle owners can pay the green tax online from the Vahan portal that is authorized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Follow the steps mentioned below to pay the green tax online -
Open the Vahan portal and enter your vehicle registration number to avail “Pay your tax” service.
- Click on the proceed button and select the “Pay your tax” option.
- Enter your mobile number and submit the OPT sent on your number.
- Next, click on the “show details” tab and select the tax mode.
- Click on the payment tab and confirm it.
- After your payment is successful, a message box will appear confirming the same.
