What is a PUC certificate?

A PUC certificate is an approval that the emissions from your vehicle are under control as per the pollution norms. It is officially issued by the government of India after a thorough check of the vehicle’s emission levels.

 

As per the Motor Vehicle Act, now it is necessary to carry PUC along with the DL, Registration certificate, and insurance certificate. 

 

A PUC is an authorization that you are using a vehicle legally on the road. It confirms the accepted amount of pollution your vehicle may contribute.

A PUC certificate holds information like :

 

A serial number of the certificate, which helps in monitoring when was the last time your vehicle took the pollution test.

 

Vehicle registration number

 

Issued and valid date of the PUC test. 

 

Test reading of the PUC. 

 

All the Motor vehicles on the Indian Roads are required to have the pollution under control certificate.
